How is being a YBN Member beneficial to my business?

Your Beauty Network is the only business support membership that offers ongoing business support for any area of your business, with access 24 hours/day, 7 days a week! Any business related question or concern can be answered by calling a YBN Members Service Rep, referencing the myriad of tools and services available online or by using the resources sent to members each month on the Business Builder CD. YBN’s client management, e-marketing and online appointment booking system allows members to work smarter, not harder in the development of their business. YBN members see a positive impact in their business within the first month of becoming a member.

I can’t remember my Username and/or Password, what do I do?

In the event that you cannot locate or remember your username and password, you can do one of two things. If it is Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm Pacific Standard Time, call us toll free at 866-364-4926 Ext. 223 or 231 and our member support reps will get you logged in! If it is after hours, email your name, salon/spa name, phone# to info@ybn.com and we will contact you as soon as the office opens.

I'm not very good at computers; will a YBN membership still be helpful for me?

YBN’s website is designed to be very user friendly and informative. For additional help with the website you can view our “website tour” or call our members service reps for support. YBN members can get value from their membership even without using a computer! Call our member reps on the phone, or participate in the Weekly Teleclasses. You’ll also receive the Business Builder CD in the mail every month, and you can attend the LIVE Annual Business Retreat Seminar each year.

How can I contact someone if I have a business question?

Call us toll free at (866) 364-4YBN, Monday through Friday between 9am-5pm (Pacific Standard Time) to speak to a Member Services Representative. You can also email you business question to info@ybn.com for a response within 24hours. YBN Chat is also available for real time answers from an industry professional. Check the schedule to chat with your personal YBN host!

How often are new things added to the YBN website?

YBN's website is updated weekly! Check out our weekly Tip of the Week for a quick business fix! New Business Builder Articles are written, new Teleclass recordings are added to the Teleclass Library, new Management Tools are added and every month we create a NEW Monthly Marketing Promotion.

What is the Management Tools Library?

The Management Tools Library is our collection of over 160 proven business systems created by the industry's leading salon owners and educators to support you in managing your business, recruiting staff and increasing your profitability! You can simply download any of the systems available in the library in a matter of minutes and use them right away! New Management Tools are added monthly to continue to help you analyze and improve your business!

Will my client information be safe if I store it online?

YBN members can expect the highest security measures taken when storing their client information online. Per our privacy policy, you and your client information is strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone. Your clients will only be contacted by you directly with any e-marketing tools you choose.

I don’t have access to a computer at work, how can I make sure that I have an up-to-date appointment schedule and make sure no one makes appointments the same day they want a service?

YBN ‘s appointment scheduler can work as a live scheduling tool, or as a more automated system for members that don’t have easy computer access at the salon or spa. When you set up your online booking system, you have the option to choose to allow same day appointments, 1 day out appointments, or 2 day out appointments. Selecting an option other than same day appointments will ensure that you will not have clients booking appointments online without your knowledge. With the 1 or 2 day out appointment option is selected, simply print out your schedule at the beginning of each day and let your online appt. book manage itself.If you choose the same day appointment option, make sure you regularly check your schedule to be prepared for any appointments clients make for “same day” services.

I am attempting to download the Monthly Marketing Promotion and cannot get the file to open up, what am I missing?

Our Monthly Marketing Promotions are posted using software called Adobe Acrobat. This software is free and required for you to download, open and print the Monthly Marketing Promotions. If you don't have this software, you will need to download and install it on your computer. It is a very simple 6-step process and takes approximately 5-30 minutes, depending on the type of internet connection you have. I want to send a newsletter to my clients on Friday, but today’s Tuesday and I only have tome to create it today, what do I do?

The e-marketing feature on the YBN website allows you to compose an email or newsletter and schedule the delivery or “emailing” of the newsletter at a later date. Just create the email or newsletter, select the individual or group you want to send the email to, then select the date and time you wish the email to be sent. You can add your email address to any list as a great confirmation that the email was sent at the date and time you specified.

How do the Business Building articles support ME in growing my business?

Every month we post articles from the industry's leading and premier educators! The topics vary on subjects such as: recruiting, team building, financials & taxes, increasing clients, profitability, staff meetings, management, staff productivity, client spending, power of promotion, pricing, retailing and much more! Read the article online or print the article and read it during salon “down-time”. What is the Weekly Business Meter?

The Weekly Business Meter is a simple online tool designed to help you track your effectiveness.

It quickly calculates your Average Service Ticket and Retail Ticket per client and shows you what would happen to your business if you increased any area, even by just a few dollars! It keeps the information recorded for you and displays visual graphic results so you can look back and see the trends of your business and compare yourself to other. How do I determine what level of membership is best suited for my business?

Each business has specific needs. We offer two levels of membership to suit your needs as a business. The Silver Membership is designed for booth renters or employees who are working in a salon and want access to business information so they can grow or possibly open a salon or spa of their own. The Platinum membership is designed for the salon or spa owner who wants on-going business support to grow their business and increase their profits. Toll-free support, business templates, marketing promotions, business classes, client management, e-marketing, and online appointment booking are all available with a platinum membership.

I forgot my teleclass code?

Your Members ID Number is located on the YBN Website.  Log in and click on "Help /My Account" on the Home Page and then click on "Review /Update My Membership Information"  your membership number will appear at the top of the page

What is My Clients?

My Clients is a database in which you can store and manage your clients’ contact information and any vital info that you want to keep on file! This database has been designed to support you, a salon professional, to be organized by keeping all of your clients’ information in one place!

What are the benefits of using My Clients?

My Clients allows you to store all of your clients’ information in one place – you don’t need to worry about client cards or notebooks any more! You can store information such as name, address, birthday, email and any notes you wish to save for each particular client! You can also put your clients into specific groups (i.e. Women, Men, Color Clients, birthday month), which will support you in marketing effectively to each group via e-marketing or postal mailings.

Who should use My Clients?

Everyone! My Clients can be used as a complete database or can simply be used as an email database (to be used along with the e-marketing service provided by YBN). You can create mailing labels straight from your database as well as send out marketing campaigns via email simply by having your clients’ info stored!

How do I get my clients’ information into “My Clients”?

This depends on where your clients’ information is stored currently. If you have the information stored in a software system, there may be an ‘export’ option – this will allow you to export all of the information from your current system into a text or excel document. You can then import this information into the database. Some software systems do not have an export feature – if this is the case with your software, you can print your clients’ information and then either fax or mail your client database to us at YBN and we will enter all of the information for you. If you do not have software currently and have the information stored on client cards or another paper document, again you can send the info. to us and we will import it for you. OR, if you have

What if I need to update one (or several) of my clients’ information?

It’s easy! At any time, you can update individual clients’ information by simply clicking on the ‘Edit’ tool and then add or change any to the existing information. If you are updating the clients’ information in your software system, you can simply re-import the updated information into your ‘My Clients’.

I’m not good with computers and don’t know where to start!

That is what we are here for! No matter what your skill level or comfortability is with computers, we can support you to be more at ease with using this new technology! What is My Appointments?

My Appointments is an Online Appointment Book. With My Appointments, you can manage your entire salon/spa schedule online and keep track of appointments your clients book online. Best of all you can access the calendar anywhere you have an Internet connected computer!

What are the benefits of using My Appointments?

With My Appointments, you can manage your schedule and keep track of your clients’ information all in one place! Plus, you can actually give your clients the ability to get online and book their own appointments with you! My Appointments is designed to maximize your time by allowing you at-a-glance access to your entire business schedule. Clients will love the flexibility of booking their appointments anytime 24/7 at YOUR salon or spa ONLINE!

Who should use My Appointments?

My Appointments is ideal for independent stylists and small salons/spas (up to 4-5 technicians).

Will my clients be able to over-book my schedule?

No. Your appointment book is set up by your specifications – if you do not choose to book more than one service at one time (i.e. a haircut while a color is processing), then your appointment book will be set up accordingly. Your appointment book is set up according to the services you provide and the time it takes you to provide each service. Your clients will not be able to see your actual ‘appointment book’ – they will be able to choose a day and an approximate time for their appointment (i.e. Monday, morning/afternoon/evening). Once they do that, they will be shown the times available to book the service they have chosen.

Can just ‘any one’ get into my appointment book to schedule an appointment?

No. Your clients will be loaded into My Clients ahead of time and will be assigned a username and password – they need this username & password to get into your appointment book. If someone wants to book an appointment with you and they are either not in your appointment book or do not know their username & password, they can register themselves. When a client registers himself or herself, they are required to provide a valid credit card (for your security).

What if I have services I do not want my clients to book for themselves?

If you have services that you do not want clients to book for themselves, without consulting with you first (i.e. extensions, weaves, hair replacement), this is not a problem. With each service that you provide, you can choose if it is a ‘bookable’ service or not. If you choose for a service to be ‘bookable’, your clients will be able to book the appt. themselves. If you do not choose it to be ‘bookable’ that service option will not even appear for the clients to choose as an appointment – they will need to call you to book it.

Can my clients book appointments with me during the same business day?

No. Your appointment book will not allow any client to book an appointment with you within the same business day – they would need to call you to do that.
